More Than a Care Package: The Heart Behind The Orange Glow Project
When a family loses a child, the world doesn't stop.
The meals eventually stop coming. The phone calls become less frequent. The flowers fade. Life moves forward for everyone else while grieving parents are left trying to learn how to survive a world that suddenly feels unrecognizable.
We know this because we've lived it.
The Orange Glow Project was born from the loss of our son, Mitchell, and from a simple realization. No family should have to walk through the loss of a child alone.
What began as our own grief has become a mission to stand beside other families with compassion, practical support, and the reminder that love does not end when a life does.
Where We're Starting
Today, our primary program is our Grief Care Package.
Each package is thoughtfully assembled with comforting items, practical resources, and gentle reminders that grieving families are not alone. Every item is chosen with intention, not to fix grief, because nothing can, but to provide support during some of life's darkest moments.
For many families, this package is the first time someone has acknowledged that their grief still matters.
It is our way of saying:
We see you. We remember your child. You are not alone.
But we also want people to know something important.
The care package is where we're starting. It is not where we're ending.
Looking Ahead
Our vision has always been much bigger than a single care package.
As The Orange Glow Project grows, so will the ways we're able to serve grieving families.
Our long term goals include providing financial assistance for counseling, funeral expenses, and other unexpected costs that often accompany the loss of a child. We hope to build meaningful grief resources for schools so children, teachers, and communities are better equipped to support classmates experiencing profound loss.
We're also developing Their Handprint, a place where families can honor their child's story by sharing photographs, memories, milestones, and the love that continues long after loss. We believe every child's life deserves to be remembered, celebrated, and honored.
Looking even further ahead, we envision educational resources, community partnerships, and accessible tools that help families navigate grief while helping others better understand how to support them.
This Is Only the Beginning
Every family deserves to feel seen.
Every child deserves to be remembered.
Every act of kindness reminds someone that hope can still exist alongside grief.
The Orange Glow Project is still young, but our vision reaches far beyond the programs we offer today. Every care package delivered, every partnership formed, every donation made, and every story shared helps build something much larger than ourselves. We are creating a community where grieving families know they never have to carry their loss alone.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for helping us grow. Together, we are building a future where every grieving family has somewhere to turn, every child is honored, and no one has to walk this journey alone.
