How we help

Our work begins with grief care packages.

Right now, The Orange Glow Project provides thoughtfully prepared grief care packages for families after the loss of a child. Each package is assembled by hand and includes comfort items, practical resources, and a reminder that the family and their child have not been forgotten.

Grief care packages

Our grief care packages are prepared by hand for families after the loss of a child. Each package includes carefully selected comfort items and practical grief resources intended to offer support during an overwhelming time.

A package cannot make this loss okay. It is simply one way we can show up, acknowledge the child who died, and let the family know they have not been forgotten.

Who may submit a family
Anyone close to the family, a parent, relative, friend, coworker, faith community member, or care provider, may submit a request. Families are also welcome to submit for themselves.
Where we currently serve
We provide packages directly to families in the Baton Rouge area and surrounding parishes, including East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, Tangipahoa, and Lafayette Parish.
Outside our service area
Families outside our local service area may still receive a package when someone chooses to sponsor the cost of the package and shipping.
What the request form asks
Basic contact information, family and child details, and any information you feel comfortable sharing that helps us confirm the request.
After the form is submitted

A member of our team reviews the request, follows up privately to confirm the details we need, and then prepares and delivers the package. We keep families informed along the way and only ask what is necessary.

Text reminders

Remember With Me

Grief doesn't end after the funeral, and neither should our support. Our Text Reminders help friends, family members, coworkers, and communities remember the dates that matter most. By receiving a gentle reminder before an important day, you can reach out with a simple message of love and support when it is needed most.

Grief care packages remain our flagship program. Text reminders are one more way the people around a family can keep showing up.

What families can expect

Prepared by hand

Each package is thoughtfully assembled by a member of our team.

Practical and meaningful

Packages include comfort items and resources chosen to be useful during grief.

Centered on the family

We do not tell families how to grieve or place expectations on their experience.

Given without obligation

Families are not required to share their story publicly, post online, donate, or remain involved.

What happens after a request is submitted

    Request support

The family or someone close to them completes the request form.

  2. 02
    We confirm the details

We privately confirm the information needed to prepare and deliver the package.

  3. 03
    We prepare the package

Each package is assembled by hand with comfort items and grief resources.

  4. 04
    The package is delivered

We coordinate delivery or shipping based on the family's location and the support currently available.

Help us provide a package

People often want to help after a child dies but are unsure what to do. Sponsoring a grief care package is one practical way to support a family and help us continue this work.

This is where we're starting.

Grief care packages are the first phase of our work. As The Orange Glow Project grows, we plan to develop additional resources and ongoing support for grieving families and the people who care about them. We are building each part thoughtfully so that the support we offer is meaningful, responsible, and sustainable.

Not sure where to begin?

You can request a grief care package for your family or submit a request for someone you know.
